Alex And Ani Wishlist

We love Alex and Ani bracelets...and each have a couple. Though we'd love to continue growing our collection!

Here's our current Alex and Ani wishlist...too bad neither of us have birthdays coming up ;)

(because we fell in love with Newport)

Take a look at all of the Alex And Ani bracelets on their website...so many to choose from!

Which one of these is your favorite?
Is there one in particular that is on your wishlist?

The Malt House NYC Review

I visited The Malt House for my friend's birthday brunch, and figured I'd write a review about it! Brunch is a bit deal in New York City, but being that I live in New Jersey, I have actually never been to a NYC brunch. Brunch in NJ = going to a diner for some delicious food!

I was excited to try out a New York style brunch, but honestly was a bit disappointed. I was feeling kind of nauseous that morning (being out in NYC until 4 am will do that to you), and really wanted some good food to make me feel better. I ordered the three cheese Mac n' Cheese and was excited for it, but it turned out to be a bit bland. Perhaps other options on the menu would be better, though my friend wasn't happy with her selection either (I think it was the chicken and waffle sandwich?).

However, there is a pretty good deal of adding $12 to your bill and getting unlimited drinks. I skipped on that since I wasn't feeling well, but the rest of the group took advantage. They had an assortment of cocktails you could choose from. My friend said the drinks weren't that strong though, so it depends on what kind of brunch you're looking for ;)

What: A "gastropub" in the West Village
Where: 206 Thompson Street, New York NY
Overall Grade: C+

Do you have any suggestions for brunch spots in NYC?

Pop Of Pink!

This weekend, I went out in New York City for my best friend's birthday. It was so much fun!
I wanted an outfit that had some color, since it's finally spring (!), but also looked put together for an evening out.
My favorite place to find brightly colored tops is Forever21, and they did not fail me when I went shopping this weekend!

If you have a statement necklace, try a messy top knot to show it off! It's also a quick and easy to get ready, since you don't need to worry about doing your hair ;)

How To Spice Up Your Dorm Room

We have all been through the college freshman phase of living in a jail cell dorm room. (If you got to avoid that, I am super jealous). As I have passed my freshman year of college, and miss it dearly, I have slowly learned cool tricks to make your dorm room (or room in general) look & feel a little more like home.

First off, lighting is the most important. As you can see, that light on the wall is off and it stays off most of the time. I did that because it's fluorescent and it's just not a flattering color. Instead, I bought my own lamp from Target for $15 bucks! It's really cute and makes the lighting in the room much more relaxing.

Next, I added pictures on the wall. This is probably the easiest to do. I just found some pictures off my Facebook of me and my friends and printed them out. Rite Aid and Wal-Mart are great places to get pictures printed - they are less expensive than a photo store. Stick them on the wall and bam! Instant decorations. If you want to get more into it you can do something like this.

Another thing I just NEEDED to have was a wall tapestry. It's such a great way to get rid of a boring white wall.  Sometimes it's hard to find tapestries and it can get annoying to order them offline (mine is a gift from a friend from Costa Rica). One of my friends found that instead of ordering an actual tapestry you can find cool patterned sheer scarves and hang them up and it looks just the same!

My room would certainly not be complete without the white Christmas lights. I really don't care that it's not Christmas anymore! I love my lights and they make me happy at night when I'm relaxing after a long day.

One thing that I've been meaning to add to my room is more pillows. I love the way a bed looks when there's a bunch of soft pillows that just make it look like a big cloud of comfy :)

Have a fabulous day xo

If any of you out there have that big cloud of comfy pillows where did you get your pillows from? I would love to hear about it!

10 Ways To Have A Great Day

10 Ways To Have A Great Day

Whether you're having a bad day, or having an awesome day, these are a few ways to make your day even better.

Wear your favorite outfit // Because who doesn't feel confident in their favorite outfit?
Text/chat with a friend // Whether it's through text, Gchat, Facebook chat, Snapchat...get in touch with a friend and have a nice conversation. My sister and I Facebook chat a lot when we want to catch up or just send each other funny links we find online.
Go for a walk // Going for a walk is a great way to be active, but also to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. When you're running around to different meetings or classes, you can't really enjoy the outdoors. Go for a short walk and take it in.
Scroll through a funny site // We love Buzzfeed. I always am sending Michelle links I find on there, and most of the time they make me laugh out loud. If you're having a bad day, definitely go there! In fact, read this while you're at it: 45 Small Things That Suck Big Time
Listen to your favorite songs // I love belting out songs in my car. I have a few go-to songs for when I really want to sing ;) Make a playlist of your feel-good songs and play it in your car, on your walk to a meeting, or while you're just hanging out in your room!
Watch the sunrise or sunset // When was the last time you did this? Sometimes we are just too busy to even remember to enjoy a sunset. Go out today and watch it.
Do someone a favor // Whether they ask or not, do something nice for someone today. It always feels good to put a smile on someone's face.
Bake up a sweet treat // Really, who doesn't get in a better mood around fresh baked cookies?
Clean your room or closet // It's a pain but once I see my room freshly cleaned and organized, it just makes me feel better and more productive.
Paint your nails // Giving yourself a manicure is always good therapy. Or if you're feeling creative, try some nail art inspired by Pinterest. How about something like this?
Have a great day everyone!
What would you add to this list? What do you do when you're having a bad day?

Hey Everyone!

We are two sisters from New Jersey who love talking about fashion, makeup, reviews...etc. We want to focus more on budget friendly style. We don't know about you, but we love finding sales and cute, classic items that won't break the budget. We will try to feature sales and great finds as much as possible!

Here's a little bit more about us:

Patty: I'm a 20-something year old social media strategist and personal trainer. Some of you may already know me from my health & fitness blog, Reach Your Peak, but I wanted to branch out and write about something new :)
I love running, anything fitness related (hence my first blog), and experimenting with makeup. My favorite place to shop is probably T.J. Maxx (so many good deals!) or Old Navy (great simple finds).
Michelle: Hey, I'm Michelle! I'm 20 years old and attending Rutgers University (which I'm in love with btw). I love catching up on tech news and trends in my free time, and also love being outdoors and traveling to new places. One of my hobbies is listening and discovering new music. I actually have my own music blog where I interview up and coming artists. Check out The Ear Plug!
I've been told my style is a mix between comfortable and chill and I completely agree! Comfy is my number one necessity. Number 2 is cost (as a lot of you probably are thinking as well). I mostly shop at Forever21, Love Culture, and Marshalls.
Stay tuned for more content...We can't wait to start posting more!
